We had our DYEnamINK Stampers team Christmas party last week and one of the highlights is the handstamped gift exchange. This was the gift I made.

I got a flat 12 x 12 acrylic frame forever ago that has been in the 'someday I'm going to do something with this' cupboard (yes, we ALL have one of those!)

I inserted some of the NEW Sale-A-Bration paper that I decorated with some of the decorative adhesive strips. The frame doubles as a dry erase board too!

I used the big shot scallop #2 die to cut out the cork and post it notes and used sticky strip to attach them to the outside of the frame, along w/ the calendar. And look at those cute push pins!!! I used the SAB adhesive die cuts and glued them to the push pins..... I know... ADORABLE!

I strung the Sale-a-bration ribbon to string across the top and glued SAB buttons to the mini clips to put on the ribbon.

Like I said yesterday, I was PLAYING!

I was determined to use this set over and over to make some fun projects, and I think you'll be delighted with what I came up with (YES, THESE ARE ALL MY ORIGINAL IDEAS WITH THIS SET!) It's too new to copy/tweek someone else's ideas (lol)!

Movers and Shapers Die Christmas Card

This die is so much fun to use! You can create a window anywhere on your card... just position the movable 'window' die to punch the window where you'd like.

For this card I used the Bells and Boughs set from the Holiday Mini Catalog. And watercoloring is a cinch using stamp pads and Aquapainters. Add a little bling with our stick on rhinestones---LOVE THOSE! They are definitely my FAVORITE accessory from the catalog.

I hope you are having as much fun as I am making your Christmas cards. :-) And even more fun sharing the Reason for the Season with those around you. CELEBRATE JESUS!

French Foliage HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

This card was so easy to make. I used Old Olive, More Mustard and Cajun Craze ink and cardstock with the AWESOME French Foliage set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

The leaf on the center piece was done using the rock and roll technique.... Ink the stamp in mustard, then roll the edges of the stamp in cajun craze ink.... then stamp.

French Foliage Card Idea

This card is not my original idea.... but as soon as I saw it, I memorized it and HAD to recreate it.

It uses the French Foliage stamp set from the Holiday Mini catalog..... And the Cherry Cobbler and Pear Pizza paper and ink are AMAZING together!

I thought the "Imagine the Possibilities" greeting was the PERFECT sentiment considering the FABULOUS STARTER KIT SPECIAL going on right now! Bells & Boughs Stair Step Christmas Card

Ok, I know I am going to hear it for this one after yesterday's post about how I don't make things that are complicated. Well, this isn't 'complicated' but it is VERY PUTSY!

The Bells & Boughs set from the Holiday Mini Catalog is so elegant! I stamped them with Stazon ink and watercolored them with Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke ink and an aquapainter. The ruffle is our gold Waffle Paper.

Once in awhile I have to do a work of heART! While this was fun to do ONCE, I don't think I'd make 50 of them or anything! lol! Lots of cutting, but worth the results!

Quilt Top Note Die

Now, I know you are going to think this was WAY to complicated, but you should know me better than to think I'd do something complicated! lol!

I took a piece of white cardstock and attached 1-1/4" squares of Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper to it (just cover the whole piece). Then, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Top Note Die. Super easy!

The background piece it textured with the big shot using the lattice embossing folder.

Because I care.... Hmmmm, I am sure you've had someone tell you about something hard they are going through. Wouldn't they love to get a handmade card from you letting you know that you care and are praying for them? You are praying for them aren't you? That's the best gift you can give someone.

French Foliage - Thinking Outside the Box

At my DYEnamINK Stampers team meeting this month, my good friend Beth shared a card where she made a poinsettia out of the leaf stamp in the French Foliage set, so of course, I had to come home and make one too!

Here's my own creation! Cherry Cobbler paper and ink.... I stamped the leaves and cut them out (yes, I cut again... this is amazing!) And, I am NOT hoarding my shimmery brads..... The Petals a Plenty embossing folder for the Big Shot adds such a nice touch to the background.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the strip that has the greeting stamped on it is brushed gold cardstock.

Matchbox Die for Big Shot

I don't know what life was like before the Big Shot!
Especially when it comes to making fun little boxes... No more measuring, scoring, cutting.... Just crank and go!

This little box (which we made at my last Too Stinkin' Cute Class) uses the Greenhouse Gala designer series paper. Stampin' Up! used this paper on samples on the front of one of our Stampin' Success Magazines (our monthly demonstrator newsletters) and I loved the colors. They are so yummy!

The little tag on top is actually from the same die. There's three different tags included in the die. What a value! And I know you LOVE the shimmery brad (from the Holiday Mini Catalog!) I'm kind of addicted to them. Once I got over the fact that I cannot hoard them! You know what I mean... you have that pretty paper, or in this case, shimmery brad, and you open it up and just look at it. You don't want to use them because they will be gone! Well, that's why you have me! You can always get more, silly!

Inside, I wrapped some Hershey nuggets with some paper strips (1x3). LOVE THEM!

What friend do you know that would love a little pick me up like this....? Don't you think you should make her one today?

French Foliage Card Idea... Masculine

The French Foliage set is in the Holiday Mini Catalog. What a beautiful set.
I wanted to make a simple guy card, and here's what I came up with.... Let me know what you think!

I stamped some of our Gold Waffle Paper (from the mini) with black Stazon ink. (Stazon works best because it dries fast and is permanent). And I layered the stamped waffle paper on Old Olive cardstock.

I also stamped the leaves on Brushed Gold Cardstock and cut them out. (Yeah, I CUT them out....Not like me, I know!)

The greeting is stamped on brushed gold and punched out with the Word Window punch and layered on to a black piece punched with the Modern Label punch.... All the gold is really shimmery. Kinda cool!

The waffle paper comes in a 2-pack... with a roll of gold and a roll of silver.
Fall is definitely my favorite time of year. I love how God takes nature and turns it into his canvas. We have the best artwork.... Divine artwork!

Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper-NO Stamping!

Whew!
You must have wondered where I've been!
Well, let's just say that sometimes life happens, and God makes us take a break....

But, I am back, and have been having fun in my stamp room.

The Holiday Mini Catalog is FABULOUS (in case you didn't already know that) and this Deck the Halls paper is BEAUTIFUL! These cards are made from one of the sheets in the package...

I just cut out parts of the paper to use on the card fronts. Super easy!

Here's some upclose pics:
This one uses some of our crocheted ribbon.

Just a little vanilla taffeta ribbon for this one.

More vanilla taffeta...

And the 5-petal punch (to make the poinsettia and the leaves.) Add 3 clear rhinestone brads and viola!

The card bases are Cherry Cobbler... I am finding it really hard to use another red for Christmas. This one is so beautiful!

Stampin' Up! So Cute

This card uses the So Cute stamp set, and yes, more of the Nursery Suite Quick Accents (are you finding you NEED them now???)

And why have one cupcake when you can have 3!

The pearl accents are our NEW sticky pearls... and this particular one comes in a strip.... so no lining them up... just peel and stick! Add a little texture with the perfect polka dots folder and big shot.

The curly label punch makes a great 'pull' for the insert.

Again, we used some more Quick Accents from the Nursery Suite Collection.

Cake in a Box

Ok, I am such an 'inside the box' girl! I never would have thought to take a battery operated candle and make a cake out of it! DUH!

Here is another project we made at conventional....

Inside is this cute cake!

We used the new Nursery Suite Quick Accents.... self adhesive die cuts that all coordinate (they even have matching designer series papers!)

You know.. this would be a fun gift to give someone just to let them know that THEY are a wonderful reason to celebrate! You know.... The gift of each other is a reason to Celebrate! God is so good to give us each other, don't you think?

2 step envelope punch

Ok, this punch was NOT on my original list of must haves! (notice I said 'original' list---it now is!)

This punch actually cuts and scores at the same time! Totally cool!

It creates cute envelopes for accents (and even more fun ways to use it thanks to Susan Gardner showing us her demonstration at conventional!--You'll have to wait to see those!)

Stampin' Up! Aviary Make & Take

At the coventional I spoke at a week ago, we made some wonderful make and takes. Here is one of them using the new Aviary stamp set. The designer of this card is Connie Tumm. It was so nice to come and have everything pre-cut and ready to make. As a customer, you get that treat all the time, but as a demonstrator, not so much...

What an absolute honor to be invited as a guest speaker to my friends' team training event this past weekend in Chicago. Connie Sylvester and Susan Gardner, two of my absolute favorite demonstrator friends, invited me to share information on what I do to create a fabulous workshop experience for my hostesses and guests. They had 80 ladies join us, and did a phenomenal job at putting on this event!

My friend Beverly and I arrived in Chicago on Saturday afternoon and were blessed to have dinner with Pam Morgan, VP of Demonstrator Relations at Stampin' Up! We joined Pam, and 6 other demonstrators for a fabulous dinner.... the BEST either of us had ever had!

Sunday evening we were treated to a FABULOUS stamp camp where we made an awesome project. (pictures of that coming soon!)

Sunday/Monday shared my presentation, and we were delighted to have Pam share a special message from Shelli Gardner (owner of SU!) as well as demonstrations of items coming out in the next Holiday Mini Catalog. What a treat to have her there as one of us... just hanging out and chatting for the weekend!

Here are a few pictures of the gifts they made for us. Susan made me this Simply Adorned Necklace/charm. It is so beautiful!

And here are a couple of the gifts for Pam. This is an adorable sampler frame.

And a personalized stationery set made from a 3 dimensional acrylic frame.

I'll be posting more pics of our FABULOUS make and takes, as well as the incredible swaps I got. These ladies are amazing stampers!

Stampin' Up! Aviary and Elegant Lines

I have had several people ask me how these girls earned the Quarter Queen event.
Well, they can come in one of two ways: 1) Submit $400+ in sales for each month of the quarter, or 2) sponsor a new demonstrator.

Here is another one of the cards they made, using the new Aviary stamp set.... I really think this set is going to be a big hit! It's nice to have something other than flowers for a change, and this set fits the bill! Oh, and check out the new Elegant Lines embossing folder for the big shot... a MUST have... trust me! We also used the new punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack that coordinates with the clear Bitty Buttons... Neat customizeable buttons!

Queen Deanne and Queen Shellie had so much fun. Aren't they lovely in their crowns????

Now on to the projects my quarter queens were able to make this week....

First of all, we had a wondeful time.... as you can see by the smile on Queen Beverly... (I'm sure Queen Beth getting her glasses stuck in her hair had something to do with that--never mind... that's just Beth!)

And this is one of the 7 cards they made... all using new goodies from our new catalog!

This stamp set is called Funky Four, and in my honest opinion.... IS A MUST HAVE! Just simply cute and easy to use. You will LOVE it, trust me...

The image is stamped in 4 of our new colors... Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight and Peach Parfait. (and that daffodil ribbon is simply adorable!)

Two-Step Owl Punch and Quarter Queen Event

This is by FAR my FAVORITE event for my downline!

I treat them to dinner and stamping, and this month, 7 ladies earned my Quarter Queen event. I am so proud of all of them!

When they arrived, I had a couple gifts waiting for them at their seats....

A magnetic dry/erase board-you can get these magnetic photo holders in 2 packs at discount stores. They have clear fronts that you can write on and wipe off.

And a milkbox with CHOCOLATE inside!!! I love the big shot... it makes cute things like this easily!

The Two-Step owl punch is SO FABULOUS! I love using him, and think it will be a new addiction!

Oh, we had a yummy dinner.... chicken salads and strawberry shortcake. Here is the recipe for the salad girls :)

Salad:
Lettuce (I used premade bag salad)
Chicken (I used a precooked rotisserie from the deli and cut it up)
Grapes
Bacon (again, precooked in the dressings section)
Sunflower Seeds
Mozarella Cheese

Dressing:
1 cup canola oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
3/4 cup splenda (or sugar)
1 tsp dry mustard
2 tsp poppy seeds

Toss salad ingredients together. Combine Dressing ingredients in a shaker container. Pour dressing over salad and enjoy!

Sweet Treat Heart Cups Card Idea

Well, what do you think of the new look of my blog? It was fun freshening things up!

Speaking of a freshening up..... This fun card idea holds Candy Cane Bath Crystals from Lemongrass Spa. These were some gifts I made for guests who brought a friend to my first spa party. They loved the idea! And thanked me for the treat!

The hearts are clear cups that are self adhesive. You fill them with what you like, then stick them down! I used the full heart punch to punch a heart for the treat cup to poke through. So fun!

I will be posting pics of my card class I had last night (8 cards we made!)
But for now I thought I'd share this great masculine card idea with the emboss resist technique.

Simply emboss your image on vanilla cardstock with clear embossing powder and then rub ink over the image with a sponge or sponge dauber. VIOLA!
I also used our Bridesmaid Specialty Paper and ribbed ink on that too... it doesn't stick to the shiney stripes!

Stampin' Up! Sweet Scoops Card Idea

The new mini catalog is a fabulous new set from the Summer Mini Catalog. I mean, who doesn't LOVE ice cream? And this ice cream is 100% fat & calorie FREE! Woo Hoo!

This card was really fun to make! I used the Wide Oval Punch to punch out a rose red oval, and cut it in half (actually, just above half) and then snipped off the bottom to create a bowl for my icecream. The little highlights on the bowl are added with a White Gel Pen.

I used Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink, and Soft Suede for ink and cardstock. This card was really fun to make.

I hope you are enjoying your Memorial Weekend, and enjoying some yummy ice cream! We are having BEAUTIFUL weather here in Michigan, and I am spending the day today in my Bible, and thanking God for the countless sacrifices that were made by our Men and Women in service to our country. We have no idea the pain, fear, agony, stress and terror they face every day so we can sit at home, in our comfy houses, enjoying a bowl of ice cream with a nice breeze blowing through. Sweet Scoops Card Idea

This is my new favorite card! It's rare that I come up with something that I totally LOVE, but the colors of this card are just sooooo YUMMY!

This is made with the new Sweet Scoops stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog. And, another reason I love this card so much is because Stampin' Up! gave it to me for FREE a couple months ago! One of those demonstrator perks!

I chose the colors Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Pretty In Pink and Barely Banana for this project.

I stamped the cones first in Creamy Caramel and then texured the cardstock with the Perfect Polka Dot texture folder (still availalbe from the occasions mini catalog.... there's lots of things that are 'still available'.... CLICK HERE TO SEE THE CARRY OVER LIST.)

Then I stamped the ice cream swirls and cut them out (on the pink one.... I made swirls of strawberry with the kissing stamp in the set... ink the icecream in pink, and the swirls kissing stamp in rose red, then kiss them together to transfer the red swirls to the ice cream, then stamp. Fun Fun, yummy FUN!

The dazzling diamonds glitter makes it even more yummy!!!

Watercolor Trio Build A Journal

This project has been on my mind for quite some time, but just couldn't get straight in my mind what I wanted to do.... ever have that happen?

Well, let me tell ya, it's all about God's timing!

Yesterday I was stamping some ideas from my upcoming Big Shot Class, and after I was done, I sat down, and viola, this project happened. I am so excited to share it with you. God is so good.... I love it when He works through me like this!

This is a journal, but it's not your ordinary journal! It's totally hand made and built my me!

I wanted a place to keep all of my thoughts (yes, there's lots of them and it's hard to keep them all contained in my head without forgetting something!)

Inside my journal are five divided sections: places to record my notes from Pastor's sermons, prayer requests and also a place to write the answers to those prayers so I can see God's work and reflect back on how He has blessed me, Scripture verse page to record my favorites and ones I want to memorize as well as what those verses are saying to me, Letters to the Lord pages to write out my own prayers to God, and In My Thoughts pages where I can just journal whatever is on my mind.

I hope I've inspired you to spend more time meditatating on the promises of God. They are so beautiful, and now, you can have a special place to keep them all :)

I kept trying to run to the next thing that would make my life better, and in the end, found myself so far from where I ever wanted to be. I thank God every day that He brought the most amazing man in the world into my life, who loved me right where I was, and brought me out of a life of running.

There is no place to run, except into the arms of Jesus. When you live your life in the arms of Jesus, you don't need to run after all those other things.... because, in the arms of Jesus, you have all you will ever need. It's when you push Him away and try to do things your own way that you end up a mess and running in any direction to try to find what's missing.

Jesus has hold of you. He promises to never let you go. Don't let go of Him either....

Our words really do speak volumes about who we truly are... What words do you use? Are they kind and loving, fogiving and filled with grace? Do they encourage and stengthen, motivate and build up? Or do they criticize and hurt, lie and deceive? Do they push people away and tear them down?

When it comes to knowing how we are to live, we have the perfect example... Jesus himself! We are to be imitators of HIM!

What comes from your heart? Do you need a heart-attude adjustment? Picking up God's word can change your life.... Heart matters aren't something we should take lightly... they really are a matter of life... or death....

So may today's From the Heart Card INSPIRE you to let your words reflect a kind and loving heart.

Not only did I use the new Watercolor Trio stamp set, but also the new Square Lattice Embossing folder..... LOVE THAT LITTLE TOY FOR MY BIG SHOT! The colors are Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Dusty Durango.... And this layout is fun too. I like making the Dusty Durango cardstock a bit wider than the white cardstock. I think it adds some neat interest to the card.

Holland Seminar Fun!

What a fun weekend we had at the Holland seminar here in Michigan!

Seven of my team mates joined me in Holland for a fun girls weekend.

Friday night, we learned tons of great ways to use the big shot with fabric, including hair clips, pins, quilts, table runners, banners, flags, purses, totes and more.

Then, on Saturday we focused on workshops.... and I have TONS of great ideas to share with you... You will want to get your party on the calendar so I can share lots of great ideas with you and your friends.

I did a presentation at the seminar... over 100 ladies, and I made it through! :)

Stampin' Up! Watercolor Trio meets Big Shot Matchbox Die & More!

Well, today, maybe as we speak, I am doing my presentation on workshops... And sharing some fun ideas I do with my workshop guests.

Today's project is a DOUBLE FUN project.....

I created this little box using the Big Shot and our Matchbox Die... I love this little die! It holds such fun little goodies... I've used it before to hold lip balm and nail polish, chocolate, office supplies, mini note cards, peeps and more chocolate.

I used the same technique with the Presto Paper, emboss resist and Smooch Spray as yesterday.

And inside this time......

A coordinating Simply Adorned Charm! I made a little insert for the box to hold the necklace.

I stung taffeta ribbon through the chain. It looks really cool when you wear it!

It's hard to tell in the picture but the center of the flower has microbeads attached w/ sticky strip.

And the reverse side....

I used the presto paper , and alo stamped it with the flower from watercolor trio. Then I stamped the flower on white cardstock and cut it out. I added a tag with the tiny tags set and punch. I love how it turned out! Can't wait to show it off!

I think the ladies at the seminar are going to like this gift set idea, don't you?

Watercolor Trio meets Presto Paper

I have been preparing for a presentation I am giving this weekend at a seminar here in Michigan. The presentation will be on doing workshops.... Something I have always loved doing!

My friend asked me to do this presentation because that is exactly how I built my business... it's the foundation to a successful Stampin' Up! business, and I feel I have lots of great information to share. (This leads me to 2 things... one, if you haven't gotten your workshop scheduled for the new Mini Catalog yet, we need to do that! Also, if you've thought of doing what I do, I can show you how to do successful workshops to get you up and running!)

Oh, my presentation.... I will be showing some of the projects I do at my workshops... so, today you are getting a sneak peek of one of those projects (shhhhh, don't tell!)

This card uses my new favorite stamp set.... Watercolor Trio from the Summer Mini Catalog.

I used melon mambo and soft suede. Now, the gridish (is that a word... grid-ish??) paper is from the new Presto Specialty Paper in the Summer Mini Catalog. I used Melon Mambo ink with a dauber to apply the ink to the paper... the paper has embossed prints on it, and the ink doesn't stick to the embossed parts of the paper..... Presto! Pretty patterns before your eyes.

I then sprayed the inked paper with our New Smooch Spray from the Summer Mini Catalog... this is some cool stuff! You can spritz your projects to add a splatter of glitzy color, or, like I did here... spray your project then take a sponge or tissure and rub the shimmery spray all over the cardstock..... Pri-tay!

Ok, I promise to post another sample from my presentation tomorrow... and just a teaser... it will coordinate with this fun card!

Too Much Fun!!!! What a great time we had at my house tonight!

It was such a treat and honor to regconize these ladies for their awesome accomplishments with their Stampin' Up! businesses. Tonight was a special night to honor them with a dinner (cooked by me!) and a project all ready for them to make. These ladies inspire me so much and I am so glad to have them in my group of demonstrators....

Once again, I forgot to take pictures of us eating so I must say that YES, I really did cook for them.... Honest!

I decorated each person's place with a flower theme... They get to take these goodies home with them :)

These flowers were made using the Sweet Pea designer series paper with the Flower Folds die for the Big Shot... The center clear cups are the sweet treats cups.... I used the Happy Thoughts stamp set to decorate the other flowers.

Here's a close up... yes, those are M&M's in there!

These were such a hit! They are hanging photo holders. And what's really cool, is they magnify whatever you put in them.

Stampin' Up! Awash With Flowers Card Idea

As you probably remember me saying, a few of my girlfriends came over last Friday for some R & R and we had a wonderful time stamping. I am sharing another idea that my friend Nikki came up with. She used the Awash with Flowers set from the upcoming catalog in July that you can order NOW during April (or get it free with a $350 party or book party) and she paired it with the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper.

Stamp the flower on the designer paper and cut them out then layer to create a full flower. You will want to hurry and order... many of the items on this card are only available until the end of April... like the scallop trim corner punch, Sweet Pea paper and Awash with Flowers set. That cute little half pearl is from the Pretties Kit. Fun fun fun!

Women of Faith Blog Hop

Well, I could probably think of a million things, and I may even go back to this one as time goes by and add a few more thoughts.
This weeks blog hop question is:

What are 10 things you wish you would have known before you became a mother?

Oh Boy, I think I could come up with a million :) but here goes my list (so far), and in no particular order:

Don't get upset over the little things
Time will go by 50 times faster than you think it will, so hold on to every moment
The things that hurt you most are not physical
Anything that happens to your children will affect you more than anything that will happen to you
Know the legacy you want to leave
Live today in such a way that tomorrow you will have no regrets
Make sure your children see how much their parents love each other
Talk about God everyday, as often as you can, even in the little things
You can never praise and love too much
Be an avid journaller. Write down your thoughts, feelings, hopes, dreams, experiences and take lots of pictures

Another Stampin' Up! Watercolor Trio Card Idea

I'm still meditating on the book of 2 Corinthians and today I came across this verse from chapter 4 verse 16.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweights them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Mmmmmmm there is some good stuff here! We all know that our bodies are wasting away... as you get older (uhum.... turning 40 I am noticing some differences... can anyone relate?) It's so easy to be discouraged by what we can no longer do, how we no longer look, how we no longer feel....Many people, maybe you or someone you know, are really suffering in their current bodies... with diseases, cancer, mental anguish and more. But do you hear what this verse says??? In God's grand plan, our troubles are 'light and momentary'.... Did you catch that! LIGHT and MOMENTARY! We feel hard pressed on every side, discouraged, drained.... but in light of what's ahead.... This is nothing! God tells us that what we are going to experience in our eternal glory so far surpases the hardships we have here on earth that if we knew what was ahead, these troubles would be nothing to us. So what does Paul tell us to do here.... to look at our situation NOT on what we can see in the here in now, but on waht WE CANNOT SEE.... That means faith... for if we only rely on what we can see, what good is faith? Faith is believing in what you cannot see.... But, when we do, we will have the joy that comes from the hope that we have.... Isn't that fantastic!!!???

So thanks be to God! Don't you think it would be cool if we could send these cards to God (there is a movie coming out that I highly recommend you see called Letters to God). But since He sees all we do, this one's for him....

I used the new Watercolor Trio stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog. I did it in monochromatic (which I am finding I lean towards more and more lately!) using Bashful Blue. The texture is made using the new Square Lattice Embossing Folder... it's so cool... it makes the paper almost feel like fabric!

Isn't the texture on this embossing folder amazing!
I used the white gel pen to add some highlights.

Stampin' Up! Watercolor Trio Card Idea

Watercolor Trio is a stamp set coming out in the Summer Mini Catalog May 1. I think this is going to be a HUGE HIT! So easy to work with and the images are fabulous!

Here is a card I made with just one of the images in theset. I used my markers to make the image 2 toned. The card is a 3x6 card, and would work great for a money holder for upcoming graduation open houses.

It's a very simple card layout... no accessories other than ribbon! Sometimes it's nice to make something quick and easy (ok, most of the time that's my style). I think we need to do real stamping for real people... and anyone can make a fun card like this! :)

Stampin' Up! Elements of Style Card Idea

As I mentioned yesterday, I spent Friday night with my girlfriends, one of which just lost her father. It was wonderful to laugh and cry with her as she goes through this loss. Both myself and my other friend who was there, have lost our moms, and we can surely feel the pain our friend is experiencing..... And today as I read my Bible... the first verse I read spoke so greatly to my heart.... It's found in 2 Corinthians 1: 3-5.....

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in all trouble with the cmfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

Yes, God comforted both my friend in I in the loss of our moms, so now we can use the comfort He gave us to comfort our friend.... Sometimes we question why God allows things to happen, but I truly believe that he works for good in ALL things.... If I had not experienced the same loss, how could he use me to help others? It was truly a blessing..... SOOOO.....

This card reminds me that moments like these are the precious things that make up our lives. I thank God today for my friends....

My friend Nikki made it using the new Elements of Style stamp set and the NEW Presto Paper from the Summer Mini Catalog. The paper is white, and using the new Smooch Spray, the design 'magically' appears.

Stampin' Up! Elements Of Style Card Idea

I had so much fun last night with my Stampin' Up! Girls! Three of my best buds came over for some stampin' and stress relief. AND the radio station had an ALL 80's WEEKEND going on! We were dancing and singin' and even got some stampin' done. Here is one of the cards I made with the new Elements of Style set from the UPCOMING Summer Mini Catalog.

I kept it monochromatic using Soft Suede and Kraft. The images in this set are so elegant....

Today is such a beautiful day! I am out at Turk Lake at my friend's cottage.... the sun is shining and it will be 75 degrees today! How blessed we are to enjoy this beautiful day from the Lord. I think the "For You" on this card was a message to me from God... He made this beautiful day, just for me! Mmmmmmm, what a great gift we have. Enjoy your day!!!

Women of Faith Blog Hop

This is a different kind of post for me... Well, not in regards to sharing my faith, as you all know I do whenever I can! It's a passion of mine! But in regards to why I am posting.

I love Women Of Faith and am participaing in a blog hop where we talk about what topic we would speak about if we were to speak at a Women Of Faith conference... Now, I'm not a big public speaker... having spoke at some Stampin' Up! events, the biggest one being about 800 people, I don't know how well I would do, but I would give it my all and talking about Seeing Yourself the Way God Sees You.

I think it's so easy to put a smile on your face and pretend to the world that life is wonderful, and on the inside be totally discouraged and critical of who we are. We know all the flaws, all the failures, all the things we wish we weren't or wish we could be. The devil is wonderful at making us see those things above all else. But what we fail to do, and what we should do all the time, is see us as God sees us. Perfecly created to do His will. Isn't that amazing.... We are created PERFECT... JUST THE WAY HE WANTS US.... It's like that stamped card that we make, and we take the time to select the perfect color combination, the perfect accessories (ribbon is a must, right?) and then layer it with complete care to make sure that it's perfectly centered.... When it's done, we LOVE it. We cherish it, and we certainly don't want to GIVE IT AWAY! In fact, we want to show it off to everyone!!!! Well, consider our creator, and how much MORE went into creating YOU! And to see yourself as He sees YOU.... perfectly shaped, perfectly gifted, perfectly colored, perfectly talented, perfectly loved, perfectly abled to do exactly what He created you to do! When we focus on the fact that we were created by Him, for Him, and not on what we wish, hoped or wanted to be, our lives wll be free... free of guilt, disappointment, self doubt, fear, shame, and discontentment. And to know that He loved us enough to send His ONLY SON into this world to make us perfect forever through His blood, there is NO OTHER WAY we should see ourselves.... only Perfect in the Blood of the Lamb!!! Oh what a wonderful way to see ourselves.... Perfect in Jesus!!!! Mmmmmm what a perfect day!

Water Bottle Announcement - Going Green Blog Tour (and a What NOT to do!)

Well, today is my final idea for going green and it uses a water bottle (who would ever have thought we would BUY WATER!)

I took the my Tiny Tag punch and punched lots of tags in Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Barely Banana cardstock.

These little tags also look like bably bottles!

I then made this little scroll....

Which when opened is actaully a baby announcement.

Put the scroll and baby bottles in the bottle, attach the cap and wrap a piece of paper stamped with Circle Circus around the bottle and address.... Viola... a totally unique way to mail your announcements (would be great for save the dates, parties, girls night outs... whatever you want to get their attention for!) Yes, you can actually mail in these! A friend of mine, Cathy, sent me one for valentines.

Oh, I almost forgot the WHAT NOT TO DO!

Well, I was making some fabric flower pins for a conference I am going on with my Upline Janet, and did a boo boo!

I accidentally put the plastic shim that comes with the premium crease pad for the Big Shot under the clear cutting pad instead of on top of it... well the result was this:

So, instead of throwing the flowers away, I decided to texture them with the Finial Press Texture Folder and put them on a card.

What do you think? They are actually kinda pretty! I had to turn it into a creative opportunity, but PLEASE don't do this! You will be sad :(

Recycled Magazine Flower Idea-Going Green Blog Tour

If you're like me you have lots of magazines lying around the house!

Well, recently, I started cutting out the ideas I wanted to save and filing them for future use, and I came up with an idea.... there's lots of pretty print in these magazines that match our cardstock and ink, so.... here is an idea using one of the pages.

I used the editorial page (of course, who reads this, right?) It matches our Bermuda Bay ink/cardstock wonderfully!
I used my 1-3/4" punch, and my circle scissors to cut out a 2", 2-1/2" and 3" circle as seen below.

I then used my paper snips to cut little slits all the way around the circles, not going all the way to the center.

Using Bermuda Bay ink, I used a dauber to apply ink to every other circle.

Then I layered them together and apply a Jumbo Grommet to the center and then added one of our Pretty In Pink Epoxy Brads in the center of that. Fluff up the outer edge of the paper flower and viola... a fun, shiney 2-tone dimensional flower.

And the finished project......

Of course I had to use the big shot with the Polka Dot Texture Folder for the background.

The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and is punched with the Word Window Punch and layered on the Modern Label Punch.

Stampin' Up! Flower Folds Die with Pop Cans-Going Green Blog Tour

Ok, so you are probably thinking " I don't have enough space to store all the stuff I want to save now as a result of these great ideas!" We feel your pain! But, know that you will be doing your part in going green!

Today I am posting an idea using a pop can. This project cost me $.10 but for those of you who live in a state w/out pop can deposits, it's FREE!

I took a pop can and CAREFULLY cut off the top and bottom with my craft & rubber scissors, then I cut out 2 flowers using the Flower Folds Die for the Big Shot. (I used the 2 middle sized flowers, not the largest or smallest).

Flip them over, and carefully bend up the petals, then stack them together to create a votive holder. I attached them together with a glue dot.

You could use ice tea cans as they have pretty colors (didn't have one handy or would have used that!) You could also attach these flowers to frames and create really cool wall art. The possiblities are endless!

MAD Challenge - Day 28!

Today's Making A Difference project is going to a lady from my church. She just moved here due to some life issues, and is now rebuilding her life.... well, it's been a long road for her and her children, and thanks to the love and support of her parents, and her new church family here, she is moving forward (with resolving some issues and obtaining a new job!) So this card is being sent to her, to let her know she has many people praying for her and wishing her well.

The Sale-A-Bration set, Vintage Labels, is a great set as it coordinates with 4 of our punches (love that!) I used the wide oval one here.

The paper is our Bride Specialty paper... it's white normally, but I changed the color with some bashful blue ink. And of course, you can add simple elegance with our organza ribbon, and a little texture with the big shot Polka Dot folder.

Well, my challenge has been COMPLETED!!! It's been an amazing 28 days! I hope you have enjoyed these projects. Many of you have touched my heart by sending emails letting me know you were inspired to send more cards, give more gifts, as a result of this challenge. We are here for a purpose... to serve God by loving others.... I love you so much, and hope that you will take the time to love others and make a difference in their lives. Sticky Sheets with Glitter

MAD Challenge - Day 27!

Today's Making A Difference Challenge idea is going to my friend Debbie..... we attended an awesome concert last night.... Casting Crowns... we went out to dinner w/ our hubbies and then to the concert. They are such an amazing group, and proclaim Jesus in all they do.... So, I am sending Debbie this card to let her and Brian know how much we enjoyed our time with them.

I actually made this card for a demo I did today at a scrapbooking crop fundraiser for a local hospital. (I did lots of fun demos) and the ladies particularly liked the sticky sheets... sheets of 12 x 12 adhesive paper that you can cut w/ the Big Shot (as I did here with the butterflies die) and apply to your project.... then peel off the clear covering to expose the adhesive, and sprinkle with glitter.... viola!

It is so glitzy... and many of the ladies were ALL ABOUT GLITTER!

MAD Challenge - Day 26!

As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew I would have to have it!
Easter is my favorite holiday... not because of the Easter Bunny or the candy (although the bright spring colors that are everywhere are wonderful!) but, because without Easter we would be hopeless!

Today's Making A Difference Challenge idea is going out to ALL of you! (and will also be going to my family this Easter.) I made this Easter card and prayed a blessing for everyone who sees it here.

I stamped the flower in Stazon in on watercolor paper and used my aquapainter with the bashful blue, apricot appeal and certainly celery ink refills (this watercolor paper makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE when it comes to having your project come out nicely!)

I am not a mater watercolorer, and it did take me some time to get the hang of it! Practice makes perfect, right?

Jesus came into the world for us, and we celebrate that at Christmas time. But, all of that would have been for NOTHING had it not been for Easter... by Jesus' death on the cross, and raising on Easter morn, all those who believe are GUARANTEED eternal life with Him in Heaven! This is my prayer for YOU... that you will join me in Heaven where we will praise and thank Jesus face to face! Abundant joy to you this Easter and ALWAYS!

MAD Challenge - Day 24!

Ok, this idea is NOT my original, and I am sure it's not exactly like the one the original artist did :) But, while stamping an idea came to me to make a card with these colors, pumpkin pie, melon mambo and old olive... and I know that I had a picture in my head from somewhere and tried to recreate it as closely as I could from memory! So, if you recognize it, than thank you for the inspiration (I hope it looks somewhat as good as the original-lol!)

Do you have a friend that you can get on the phone with, put on a headset, clean your house, make dinner and feed the dog all while talking on the phone..... MAD Challenge - Day 23!

As I have said before, the I {Heart} Hearts set is NOT just for Valentines, as this Birthday card shows!
This idea was inspired by my friend Kimberly VanDiepen, and I received it from her as a swap card at leadership in January. I changed up the greeting and now it can be used for a birthday! :)

I am sending this to my friend Tammy! She is excited to be turning 45 and says that each birthday represents a blessing from God. When have you looked at growing older as being a blessing? The Bible tells of many men who were blessed by living many years. While we like to complain about getting older, each day, week and year we are given should be a celebration of thanksgiving to God for allowing us to continue with our friends and family. We are to enjoy the time we have here.... it will be here and gone in a flash!

MAD Challenge - Day 22!

Well, sadly to say, for todays Making A Difference project, I will be sending out another sympathy card. This one is going to Anita, my long distance cyber friend. We 'met' via a demonstrator prayer/faith group that we belong to. Her father passed away and I want to send her a 'hug' and encouragement.

This card uses the Elegant Trio stencil, a different one from the three pack then I used a couple days ago. I used the same Soft Suede, but this time I did a subtle background on Soft Suede cardstock. Added the vanilla taffeta and it was complete.

The Lord brings people into our lives in amazing ways... And even though you may not have met face to face, you are still sisters and brothers in Christ. How special it is to receive encouragement from those we know in love, and how especially amazing when we receive it from those that we don't expect it from. Who can you send a card to today that would never in a million years expect one? Do it today!

MAD Challenge - Day 21!

Today's Making A Difference Challenge involves a recently acquired addiction of mine. :)

I have been thoroughly enjoying making these darling little tote bags w/ the big shot! I have seen them everywhere, and although I am NOT a sewer, I found these totally easy to make.... as you can see! I started my first on on Friday and well, today is Sunday and I have not one, but 4 bags completed! PSYCHO, I know!

Let me start off with the first one I made for myself.

The wonderful thing about making them is that they are so forgiving! I didn't sew many straight lines, but it didn't matter! They turn out great!

I used 3 different prints, and the inside is the same print as the handle. I finished it off with one of our clear buttons for the closure.

Ok I know you are probably wondering... Deann, I thought you were challenging yourself to give things away and you said you made this bag for you!

Well, I also said I made 3 more.... and this weekend my husband and I are going to a Casting Crowns concert with our dear friends Brian and Debbie. She was totally shocked when I told her I was making these bags (as she knows I NEVER sew!) so, I am letting her choose one of the following bags this weekend. Which one do you think she will choose?????

How fun will this be to give her a cute bag.... just for no reason! Go beyond the ordinary and really do something special for one of your friends. I can't wait to see her face!

MAD Challenge - Day 20!

Today's Making A Difference Card is going to my friend Lori who goes to my church. She lost her mom this past week to a heart condition, and it wasn't something that was expected. I know she is going through alot of grief and emotions right now, and I wanted to let her know that I am thinking of her.

I used one of the stencils from the Elegant Trio pack (if you didn't know we carried stencils, you can see them in the Definitely Decorative brocure!)

I used Soft Suede ink and a sponge dauber to apply the ink to the cardstock. Added my sentiment, and a simple bow. Quick and easy, and ready to share.

I lost my mom to heart disease about 5 years ago. It was not an easy thing, and I feel that I can really relate to what Lori is going through. God uses tough times in our lives to help others who are experiencing the same things. How can you use your past experiences to help someone through a tough time in their life? MAD Challenge - Day 19!

Like I said yesterday, you can use the I {Heart} Hearts set for EVERYTHING!

This Making A Difference Challenge card is going to my long time best friend Traci. We met because we were neighbors when our kids were in Kindergarten, and we became BEST freinds immediately (the 2 hour phone call w/out having met face to face should have been a clue!) Well Traci eventually moved to Canada and back to Michigan again, and now lives about 2 hours from me. We don't see each other much, and she is going through alot of life changes right now, so I thought I'd send her a little note to tell her I love her!

This card is another color combo I wouldn't have used, but love! It's Bermuda Bay, Rose Red and Pretty in Pink. I also used Kraft cardstock and sponged some white ink around the edge to soften the look.... Oh, and there's that Scallop Trim Border Punch again!

MAD Challenge - Day 18!

The I {Heart} Hearts set from the Occasions Mini Catalog is NOT just for Valentine's! I used it on today's Making A Difference Challenge. This card is going to my friend Beth. Her dad has been struggling with serious health issues and lives far away from Beth. It has been a constant struggle for her to know when to go to visit him, what advice to give her mom, and just plain what to do.

I used three colors I have never put together before... Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue. The little blue heart is punched with our new small heart punch from the mini catalog. The saying is from the FREE Sale-A-Bration set, Whimiscal Words.

Don't you just LOVE the new FREE Sale-A-Bration punch---the Scallop Trim Border! I do (I think I use it on everything :)

I want Beth to know that God will send his Holy Spirit to lead her in what to do. She is never alone, and God will make sure she knows the direction to go.... she just needs to follow her heart!

MAD Challenge - Day 17!

This project is not a new project to my blog, but I am reposting it because I am giving this to my friend Lori. She is currently undergoing radiation for breast cancer, and I want to give this to her as a constant reminder of the hope that she has in Christ Jesus the Lord.

I printed the verse off on my computer and cut the callop and the 'F' with the Big Shot. Added some ribbon and designer series paper and viola, each frame.

If you are going through a valley in your life right now, and don't know about the hope that can only come from a relationship with Jesus, I'd love to share Him with you!

MAD Challenge - Day 16!

My Making A Difference Project Ideas for today is going to someone I don't know! Yep, a total stranger! I am going to give this little guy to the next lady who checks out my groceries at the store!

I made this little birdhouse using LOTS of new goodies!

The box is created with the Big Shot and the new Mini Milk Carton Die from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Simply cut out the box from So Saffron cardstock and assemble! Then I cut a 2 x 4 piece of Soft Suede card stock, folded it in half, then ran it through the perfect polka dot impressions folder for the Big Shot. I then made the fancy edge w/ the new Scallop border punch from the Sale-A-Bration special. Attached it to the roof w/ Tombo Multi-Purpose Adhesive.

The 'hole' for the birdhouse is just a 1" circle punched from chocolate chip cardstock. The bird is SUPER EASY to do with our NEW Extra Large Two-Step Bird Punch. I punched it from the new Sweet Pea designer series paper, and used one side for the bird, and the other for his wing and the branch. I added dimension by using dimensionals.

Yes, I filled it with chocolate!

I am sure to brighten her day! I can't wait to meet her and surprise her! You know... you just never know what someone is going through today. I pray that God will give me eyes to see everything that I've been missing.... And that this gift will be a blessing. Take the challenge... give a gift to a stranger today.... how about paying for the person behind you at the drive through????

MAD Challenge - Day 15

For my Making A Difference post today, I made a card for my Mother-In-Law. I don't get to see her very often, but I sure think of her alot. I decided that I shouldn't just send her a card on Mother's Day, or her birthday, but just because I can!

The new Sweet Pea Felt Flowers are my favorite! I have purchased our other felt accessories in the past, and used them a little bit, but I could use these on EVERYTHING! I attached them with Tombo Multi Purpose Adhesive. The dot texture is using the Big Sot with the Perfect Polka Dots TExtured Impressions Folder. Of course I had to use the FREE Scallop Border Punch from the Sale-A-Bration Special. Tags are easy to create with the tag corner punch.... and I added a mini library clip for fun.

Talk to your parents more than just on holidays! And don't assume they KNOW you are thinking of them. TELL THEM!

Today, I am sharing a little treat that I made for my family. I used the Petal Card Die and my Big shot and cut out the petal card from our new Sweet Pea designer series paper from the occasions mini catalog. I folded in 3 of the flaps to create a pocket that holds..... CHOCOLATE!

I added the Love You from the Well Scripted set and punched it out with the full heart punch. These are great to make for a party when you have to make lots of them!

MAD Challenge - Day 13!

Friends of mine, Greg and Laura, found out that they are having a BOY! They have 2 girls at home, so a boy will be a little change of pace for them! I am so excited for them.... I haven't seen them in awhile so I am sending them a little card to celebrate their good news.

I chose the Circle Circus set (the same one I used for the girl gift card in yesterday's post) and changed the colors to bashful blue, certainly celery and barely banana.

I used the slit punch on the bottom of the barely banana punch, inserting the banana paper all the way to the back of the punch, and punching a slit every 1". The, I folded the paper and slipped it over the front of my blue card. It creates a fun 2-toned border!

I used God's Blessings stamp set for the greeting. Fun Fun Fun!

A baby really is a gift from God..... Thank God for your children today!

MAD Challenge - Day 12!

Today's Making A Differnce Challenge is a gift card holder that I made for a friend to give to her niece. She was getting her a gift card for a place where she registered and wanted a cute idea for a holder.

Now, I am done having babies (as of 16 years ago!) and all of my friends (or most of them) are done as well... and we look forward to grandchildren in about 5-10 YEARS. With that said, I usually don't have a need for baby stamps, and so I decided to look for a versatile set from my collection that I could substitue for a baby one... Circle Circus fill the bill!

I simply chose baby girl colors for this one, and randomly stamped the images in different colors. I used the Whimsical Words set for the saying.....

Inside holds the gift card (note: this is not the card going to my friends niece, but one I got from Stampin' Up! last year! :) I used the slit punch to hold the card in place.

A baby is such a wonderful way to start a person!

There's lots of reasons to give a gift card.... even just a coffee one to a friend to let them know you are thinking of them..... HMMMMMM I think I'll be doing that before the month is over!

Now if you've ever had this coffee, you know it's the BEST EVER! So, I thought a special thank you was in order....

MAD Challenge - Day 10!

This is probably one of my favorite projects I've made in a long time.....

For today's Making A Difference Challenge I made this cute little treat box using our Box #2 die and the Big Shot. The box is made from our window sheets. I added a belly band with our Sending Love Designer Series Paper and NEW Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon from the mini catalog. The saying is from the set Teeny Tiny Wishes... and every greeting in this set will punch out with the Word Window and Modern Label Punches, as shown here.

This treat is going to Wendy at Beamer's Tanning where I tan every day. She is just a delightful person, always full of energy and as nice as can be! I appreicate her wonderful and genuine personality, and I think she will enjoy this little gift.

As you go about your days, look for ways to surprise people with a little gift. How about someone you might not have thought of before, whether it's a place where you do business, or someone you run into while doing errands. MAD Challenge - Day 9!

Yesterday was my group Stamp & Share event for my group of demonstrators. We get together each month, and thanks to these wonderful ladies and their fabulous ideas, we always have a great time, filled with fun ideas.

I made these fun flower pins for all my helpers, and they were a big hit.

First I chose 2 fabrics, and cut out my flowers. I used the 2 smallest flowers on the Flower Folds die, and cut 4 flowers of each size.... 2 of each fabric in each size.

I took the 4 smaller flowers and folded them in half.

Then I layered them as follows:
Start with one print, lay on the right, then take the 2nd print and lay across the top. I used a glue stick to hold them in place.

Lay the first print over as shown:

And then lay down the last folded flower down.

Now, pull the bottom of the fisrt flower on top of the last one, like below:

So your layer will look like this:

Repeat this with the other size of flower. Then lay the small one on top of the larger, and hand stitch them together. I just did an X pattern to secure them. Then I attached a button and a pin back.

The finished result has lots of layers and are so fun!

She is such a sweet lady, and I just wanted to do something nice for her. It's a privilege to work for Debbie, and I love her tons!

I also went back to my fun color combo too! This is held shut with a tiny piece of velcro.

MAD Challenge - Day 7!

My pastor is an officer in the Air Force Reserves, and he has been called to active duty to aid in the Haiti relief efforts as a weatherman in Florida. He is going to be gone for quite some time, and of course, his family is here without him.

So, I made this little treat to give to his wife Grace just to let her know that I am thinking of her. It's made with the Big Shot and the Pillow Box Die. After I punched out the box, I ran it through our new dot texture folder, then punched hearts with the Heart to Heart punch. Behind the hearts, I put a small piece of our window sheets to create a see through window. Add some ribbon and a cute heart tag, and viola!

I so appreciate everything my Pastor does, and also the support from his wife and family. Have you let your pastor and family know how much they mean to you lately? Why not begin today!

MAD Challenge - Day 6!

As I said yesterday, I have lots of people from church going through valleys right now.... My one friend, Linda, is hopefully on her way out of the valley. She is recovering from cancer surgery, and the prognosis looks good! Praise God for his mercy!

Today's Make A Difference card is for Linda, and I used the Kind & Caring Thoughts set for this pretty card!

I used the Big Shot and Top Note die to create the fun shape for my stamped image. And the background paper is from the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper Pack.

To get the 2 tone affect on the flower, I used my pale plum marker to color in the petals, then used my rich razzleberry marker to add some swipes of color to the stamp. Then I colored the stem with old olive, huffed on the stamp, and stamped it on my white cardstock.

I thought it needed a little zing, so back to my glitter I went!

When we see our prayers answered (and even while we're waiting for them to be) we need to praise God for his greatness. So, let's give a big PRAISE THE LORD, for Linda, and for many others!

As I look over the prayer request sheet from our church I am almost overwhelmed by the needs that are all around us. Sometimes it's easy to feel helpless in this world.... Thank God we are NOT! We have the power of prayer on our side! God is faithful and promises to answer our prayers... How amazing is that!

So for today's Making A Difference challenge, my card is going to my friend Betty, who just found out her biopsy for breast cancer came back positive. (Say a prayer for Betty today, would you?)

Ok, so I LOVE this color combo! Yes I've used it for 3 days now!

Here is today's Making A Difference idea. It uses the With All My Heart set from the occasions mini catalog as well as the new JUMBO Flower punch from the mini. I added some glitter to the flower and it just makes it pop out! Wish you could see it in real life... it's marvelous!

This one is going to my friend Barb for treating me to such a wonderful birthday out last week. (Yes, I turned 40-gasp!) She and my friend Monica (who moved away-sigh) took me out for dinner and spoiled me! See a pic of the 3 of us here.

MAD Challenge!--Day 1

What's that you ask? Well, it's a challenge I am giving myself (AND YOU) for the month of February!

Making A Difference Challenge.... make a card/gift every day this month for someone else! Yes, you cannot make it and keep it... it must be given away.

With Stampin' Up! we have the perfect opportunity to Make A Difference! We have fabulous stamps and supplies to make beautiful things... And I don't know about you, but I have gotten in the habbit of NOT sending as many cards as I used to... Well, they say it takes many days to start a new habbit, so I am beginning today, and I hope you will too!

Today's card uses the new With All My Heart set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Right now this is one of my favorite color combos.... Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie (with a little Apricot Appeal). The blue rhinestone brad from the ice circle brads is the perfect accent. Oh, and the greeting is from the NEW Whimiscal Words set that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration.

Stampin' Up! I {Heart} Hearts & My Birthday!

Well, I KNEW it was my birthday when my order from Stampin' Up! arrived BEFORE NOON! That never happens! I told the UPS man that he did that just for me!

So when I got my boxes (yes 3!) inside, each of them had a warning!

How fun is that!

Inside I had lots of new goodies, including the new I {Heart} Hearts stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Now through the end of February, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 for each one purchased to the Red Cross' Haiti Relief Fund.

Well, two of my friends were taking me out for dinner for my birthday and I wanted to make them a little gift. Here's what I did.

I removed the inserts from these photo snow globes and replaced them with embellished cardstock with my new set and the God's Blessings Set.

The water magnifies the images... it's really cool!

And my friends loved them....

They took me out for dinner and a Spanish Coffee... I'd never had one before... coffee w/ orange liquer, kahluah and brandy.. then topped with whipped cream. It's quite a presentation!

Here's the waitress fixing them up, and me tossing cinnamon into the flames...

They were very good, and one (or a half of one) is all I needed :)

Here is a fun idea from the NEW Occasions Mini Catalog.

This is a little Ghiradelli Chocolate holder using the NEW Sending Love Designer Series Paper (it's glittery!) and NEW With All My Heart Stamp Set. The Pretty in Pink cardstock is 3 x 5-1/2 and you score it at 2 and 2-1/4. I used the slit punch to create the half circle slit to run the NEW Real Red Satin Ribbon through, and also the horizontal slot punch.

We will be making treats like these at my I {Heart} Candy class in February.

Leadership 2010 Highlights and Ideas

What a fabulous time I had at Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference in Phoenix AZ.

The weather was outstanding and so were the memories!

The conference center is absolutely beautiful.... and huge!

We learned so many new ideas, and many of which you will be able to see in the months to come, both here online, and at upcoming classes and workshops.
This is a fun idea shown by Pam Morgan using the new Sweet Pea Felt Flowers... aren't they fabulous! You can use them on everything... this is a fun wrist band, which can also be used as a head band....

And here they are used on some sweet little notecard invitations!

Here are a few pics of me and my friends.... we were truly spoiled!

This is my outstanding and amazing upline Janet Wakeland. She is truly a beautiful person and I am so blessed to have her in my life. Jan is from Pennsylvania, so when I get to spend time with her it is truly a cherished moment!

Ooooooo, this ws so fun! We had just learned some amazing ways to use our Big Shot for quilt making and guess what Stampin' Up! did! They gave us all our very own Quilt Square, made by Stampin' Up! employees! This was a real treat!!! On the left is my good friend Cathy Worrell and on the right is Debbie Bartak, one of the amazing ladies in my DYEnamINK Stampers group. (Shhhh we also got a FREE STAMP SET from the next mini coming out in May!)

Everyone who was a Manager or above was treated to a very special evening.... A Mexican Rodeo and Fiesta! Here is a group of my friends that I enjoyed spending the evening with! The night was complete with homemade salsa and appetizers, as well as maracas, mariachi band, bull riding and an outstanding dinner. We also got a FREE STAMP SET!

I belong to an online demonstrator prayer group. These ladies are so special to me! We share our prayer requests and are just there to love and support one another. Here is just a few of the ladies in this group. We got together for a few minutes to swap and meet each other face to face... that was so nice!

And here are a few photos of demonstrations and displays that we got to see.

This quilt was made with fabric cut with out big shot! You are going to want to talk to me about how EASY it is to do this!

One of the best things about what I do is the ability to travel, especially with so many wonderful friends.

RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour - Day 3

Hello! And welcome to the FINAL DAY of the Love Tour! (You will want to come back tomorrow to see a TOTALLY AMAZING NEW PROJECT I am posting... so book mark me!)

This is absolutely my favoritist project of all time.... I dug it out from my bag of goodies specifically for this tour! And, I am posting HOW TO do it as well!

What do you think this fabulous little cutie could hold.... Hmmmmmm, Let me see....

2 GHIRADELLI CHOCOLATES---YUM!

I know, I know..... You MUST make one, right??? Well, I am so excited to say this is an OLIVER ORIGINAL and I am sharing the pattern with you... :) Click image to make pattern larger.

Using the pattern above as your guide, here are the steps.

Begin with 4” x 6” DSP.

Insert paper into cutter with 4” side along top. Score 1/2” from each side.
Turn and score at 2”, 2-1/2“ , 4-1/2“ and 5”.
Cut along bold solid lines where indicated.
Apply sticky strip on flaps A and between 1/2" scores as shown.
Here is how your scored, cut and sticky stripped paper will look....

Fold in flaps B, then flaps C and stick flaps A to flaps C to create box.

Punch a hole in front flap using larger punch on crop-a-dile.

Close lid and use a pencil to make mark a spot on front of tote to punch for brad.

Punch hole with 1/16” punch and secure brad. Your brad should line up with the hole you punched on the flap. Insert brad through hole on flap to close.

Apply ends of ribbon to center of sticky strip to create your handle.

Insert chocolates and close by inserting brad through the hole on the flap.... and decorate!

For this project I used the NEW Sending Love Designer Series Paper and With All My Heart Stamp Set. I used real red and pretty in pink ink, and pretty in pink taffeta ribbon.

RemARKable LOVE Blog Tour - Day 2

Hello Stampin' Up! Lovers!

Here is my LOVEly project for today.... a sweet box made out of our petal card die.

You will need 4 cut outs w/ the petal card die. Start by gluing them together as shown here:

Continue until you have all 4 pieces joined together like this....folding the top falps out and the bottoms ones in.

Next, glue the bottom flaps down securely.

After secured, here is how the bottom should look.....

The undecorated box looks like this:

I decorated the flaps using the NEW designer series paper from the occasions mini catalog... Sending Love.

I stamped 4 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock to place on the outsides of the box. The images are from the NEW With All My Heart set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Then I wrapped the NEW Pink Statin Ribbon around the box and tied it into a knot. I then tied pieces of ribbon on the sides to make knots all the way around.

I made Build-A-Brads using one of the images in the With All My Heart Set... You can see how to make them HERE.

Finish it off with something else I LOVE.... CHOCOLATE!

How about our new pink corduroy buttons!

And this one is my favorite! It also use the beautiful new Well Scripted set.

Stampin' Up! Christmas Idea.... JOY Jar

These little jars are so easy to make... You can find these squatty jars pretty much anywhere canning supplies are sold.

They are great to fill with CHOCOLATE (ok, you could put nuts, trailmix, jelly bellies (love them), mints, brads, ribbon, grommets, ribbon scraps, eyelets or anything else in them (however, I wouldn't eat the last few that I mentioned!)

I used the Christmas Cocoa designer series paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog (have you gotten everything you want from there???? It only lasts til January 4th!)

I cut a 4" circle with my Stampin' Up! Circle Scissors and attached it to the canning lid of this jar with some Tombo Multi-Purpose Adhesive.

To cut the JOY letters, I used the Big Shot with the Stampin' Up! Timeless Type Alphabet Junior dies....They are cut out of Real Red Cardstock....

Finish it off with a little Soft Suede Polka Dot Ribbon!

Do you know what JOY stands for???? Jesus, Others, Yourself..... Life is good JOYful when you remember to keep these in their proper order!

Blog Tour Day 4--For the Kiddos!

Hi there, it's Elf Deann back with my final idea for Holiday Blog Tour 2009! Thank you so much for taking the tour, and for the sweet comments you have left me! I love to hear what you are thinking!!!

Today it's about the kiddos! And kids love to draw and write... and they love things that are bright and shiney!

This little pencil pouch is a perfect stocking stuffer for your little ones!

Filled with 4 shiney pencils, it's sure to get a wow!!! I used Real Red Cardstock, stamped with an image from the Delightful Decorations set. Then I created a belly band with the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper, and wrapped that with Old Oive 5/8" gorsgrain ribbon...... Finish it off with an ornament from the Delightful Decorations set. Too Cute!

Blog Tour Day 3--You KNOW I had to use Chocolate :)

Yes, coffee and chocolate.... I love them both!

So for today I have a fun little idea for your stocking stuffers, friends, co-workers or to keep next to your bed for this late nite cravings!

This little project is SUPER EASY to do and super cute too!

Begin with a 3-1/4 x 6-5/16" piece of Garden Green Cardstock... score it at 3 and 3-5/16".... set aside
Next take a 6x6 piece of Merry Moments Designer Series Paper.... score it at 1-1/2" and 4-1/4". Fold on score lines and adhere together along overlapping edge.

Insert into your cutter with the 6" edge along the top of your cutter and score at 2-7/8" and 3-1/8". Fold on score lines.....

Lay the designer paper on top of the garden green cardstock, lining up score lines in the middle. Use the 1/16" hole punch to punch a hole through both layers in between the score line.

Use gold elastic cord through the holes and tie together into a knot/bow on the garden green side.

Use the 3/4" circle punch to punch divits out of the openings of the designer paper. These pockets will hold a Ghiradelli chocolate or even a tea bag. To create a sentiment insert, use a 2-5/8" x 2-5/8" piece of cardstock.

Next, create a belly band buckle using 1-1/2" x 6-1/4" piece Old Olive Cardstock... score at 1-3/4", 2-1/16", 5-1/8" and 5-7/16". Fold on score lines. (yes, these are some funky measurements, but doing them makes the band fit perfectly!)
Attach 3/4" flap to front of booklet, lining up score lines on the spine.... tucking strip under the elastic cord.

Attach 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece Real Red Cardstock to front of booklet using adhesive along the TOP AND BOTTOM ONLY.

Tuck 1-3/4" flap of old olive band under the real red cardstock to secure.

Run a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of old olve cardstock through the Big Shot using the Petals-a-Plenty Textured Embossing Folder... Attach to real red cardstock. Accent with ornmaent from Delightful Decorations set, stamped in real red ink, punched with the Ornament punch, and accent from the set stamped in garden green ink and punched with 3/4" circle punch. Add an old olive brad and attach circle to ornamant with a dimensional.

Ta-Da.... You can embellish as much or as little as you like!

Day Two--Holiday Blog Tour--Coffee Anyone???

Are you a coffee drinker??? Have any coffee drinkers on your list of those you are giving gifts to this year?

Well, here's a couple fun ideas to jazz up an ordinary gift!

I picked up this pack of 12 coffees at Walmart the other day--for just $9 (what a steal!).... I figured, if nothing else, I'd enjoy them myself during these cold, Michigan winter months.... But, I don't think I'll be having any for myself since I've come up with some fun ways to decorate them for Christmas gifts.

This little box is created with our Big Shot and our Fancy Favor Die.

I used our Thick Window Sheets to cut out the box. Then, before assembling, I inserted the box into our Finial Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot again. It only does a portion of the box at a time, so I moved the folder over to another part of the box, ran it through again, and continued doing it until the whole piece was embossed. Here is an upclose of the texture this gives the box.

Isn't that cool!

Next idea I had you can do with any cardstock and designer series paper you have on hand, or use what I did.....

This is a Coffee Pouch....

Here is the pattern and instructions (click image to view larger pattern):

Begin with a 2-1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock (here I used Old Olive)
Score at 1-1/2", 6" and 7-1/2. Fold on score lines.
Punch a window with the Large Oval Punch about 3/4" from the edge.

Adhere shut where the top flap overlaps the bottom.
Insert coffee pack and wrap 1-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of designer paper (I used Merry Moments) around pouch and secure ends together in the back.

Wrap with ribbon (I used Real Red Polka Dot Grosgrain).

I then stamped and accent with a stamp from the Christmas Punch Hostess Set and attached it to the top. Super cute, super easy!

I printed off the verse on vellum cardstock and attached it to the Christmas Cocoa Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog using gold brads... This paper has a 'flocked' snowflake on it.... it's so cool!

The verse says, 'And He will be called..... Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.'

Then I punched out the JESUS letters with my Big Shot and the Simple Serif Alphabet dies. Attached them in the center, and viola! Done! I made three of these in no time for a craft fair I am doing this weekend.

Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint part 3

SHINE SHINE SHINE!
I love this card idea using the Tree Trimmings Stamp Set.

I love the layers and texture... the Bride Designer Paper is so beautiful. I added some shimmer paint to the ornaments, and you can see it better below.

And adding a hat pin and beads from the pretties kit really sets it off!

This is one of my favorites. What do you think?

Alpha Family Center Fundraiser

Saturday was our all day Stampin', Stitchin' and Scrappin' for LIFE Retreat.

What a FABULOUS DAY IT WAS!

21 ladies joined us and we raised over $500 for the Crisis Pregnancy Center!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!

Here are some of the ladies crafting:

I had 2 tables full of my Stampin' Up! tools/stamps/inks to use.

And all the food was included with their $25 donation... the ladies of Spencer Mills Church donated all the food and made it for us too. Here's Linda hard at work! She even made us home-made spaghetti sauce that was simmering all day! YUM!

If you are interested in having me do a fundraiser for your group, let me know! This was easy to do and so much fun FOR EVERYONE! We are planning another one in February, so watch for more details to come!

It's amazing what God will do through a few volunteers and the participation of crafters! He is SO GOOD ALL THE TIME!

October Quarter Queens

This is by FAR my favorite downline event!

Each quarter the demonstrators in my group have the chance to earn a fun night of stamping and dinner... ON ME! Yes, I prepare a project for them to do AND I cook them a dinner too. (Those of you who know how much I love to cook (HA!) know this is quite an accomplishment in itself!)

Last night 4 ladies joined me who earned this incentive event. Here are the highlights!
I bought each Queen a fun vase and put fresh flowers in them.

I added a special tag to each one with a personlized thank you message for all they do for me and my team.

They each received a pumpkin basket filled with..... CHOCOLATE!

We started off the evening with a yummy dinner.... Scalloped Potatoes w/ Ham, Tossed Salad and Pumpkin Pie.

Here is the recipe for the potatoes:

6-8 large potatoes, peeled and sliced

1 can cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup

1 can cream of celery soup

1 can milk

1/2 cup green peppers, chopped

1 cup chopped onion

Black pepper

1-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese.

Mix soups, milk, green pepper, onion and black pepper together in a large bowl. Add potatoes and mix well. Pour into a greased 9x13 dish and cover with foil. Bake for 1 hour. Remove foil and top with cheese. Cook uncoverd 15-30 min longer until potatoes are done.

YUM!!!

Stampin' Up! Autumn Days Card Idea

I think I want this vase and arrangement for a centerpiece for my table!

The Autumn Days set has such great fall images. And the vase is such a clever idea!

It uses the wide oval punch... snip off one end, and then use the punch to round the other end to create a curved top! How Cute!
Add a litle strip of dusty durango cardstock w/ a flower punched from the boho blossoms punch and viola! Super cute card in just minutes.

This was my favorite card from stamp club this month. Which one was yours???

Stampin' Up! Thoughts & Prayers Masculine Card Idea

Here is project number one that my monthly club members made this weekend.....

This is a great masculine card idea using the Thoughts & Prayers set. I embossed the tree in gold on always artichoke cardstock, then layered it on dusty durango cardstock. The base is chocolate chip. I added some texture to the background by using the sanded background stamp.

Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint part 2

I am on a roll with this little gem of a paint!
If you haven't gotten yours yet, you need to contact me to place an order! This is a must have item for your Christmas card and gift making!

The paint dries REALLY fast, so you have little chance of smudging....

On this card, I used a sponge dauber to apply the paint directly to my snowflake stamp, then I stamped it on the cardstock, giving it a shimmery look on the white cardstock. This snowflake is from the Serene Snowflakes set in the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I also rubbed some of the paint on the punched out ornament for some extra shine.

Stampin' Up! Shimmer Paint

Stampin' Up!'s new shimmer paint is a huge hit!
I love the shimmer and pizzazz it adds to my projects, and my hostesses have been loving it too!

Here is a fun idea I created to show at my workshops this month.

I used the new Delightful Decorations stamp set and the coordinating Ornament punch. The white piece I punched from the top note die w/ the big shot, then ran it through with the petals a plenty embossing folder for the big shot. I used some of the champagne mist shimmer paint w/ a sponge dauber to lightly add shimmer to the embossed flowers and the ornaments. Oh, I also rubbed it on the red grosgrain ribbon to make that sparkle too!

The shimmery gold background is our metallic gold cardstock.
